We just need one more score

One touchdown should be enough; the defense won’t give up 14 points.

by BearsNecessity on Dec 27, 2008 7:38 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We need a score or big shift in field position on defense or special teams. The offense is on the field for a couple of seconds then the D is back out there… They’re going to get tired out. We need a game changer on D like WW interception.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 7:39 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Offense was just on the field for five minutes.

by BearsNecessity on Dec 27, 2008 7:40 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I know.. but I meant for the the majority of the game. You know what I meant. I want to avoid an Arizona.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 7:41 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That Arizona game was a black hole.

Let's go Bears!

4th quarter should (hopefully) be ours!

Holding them to a field goal!!

by tjalorak on Dec 27, 2008 7:51 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

everyone is slipping. move the game to memorial! ;p

by turkey on Dec 27, 2008 7:51 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Memorial or the Farm are probably the best place for a bowl game (ok, once Memorial upgrades from porta-potties). It seems the turf for baseball players in the summer isn’t so much for football players in the winter.

With a Cal TD on top of that, please.

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 7:52 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It’ll be interesting how much we put this ball in Best’s hands. Miami’s D knows we’re going to try to get the ball to him.

by BearsNecessity on Dec 27, 2008 7:54 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

wow, commercial:kickoff:commerical. It’s like watching the NFL!

by turkey on Dec 27, 2008 7:55 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's amazing.

Everyone knows we’re getting it to Best and he’s still getting good yardage.

Vereen should be a capable replacement.

by GoldenBear421 on Dec 27, 2008 7:58 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Looks like right hand?

by turkey on Dec 27, 2008 7:59 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah, wasn’t really grabbing at the elbow. Smashed hand?

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 8:00 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow, Vereen

Nice recovery from the fumble. Run blocking picking up on the outside.

by BearsNecessity on Dec 27, 2008 8:00 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

If Miami thinks they’re safe with Vereen in, they’ll be in for a surprise.

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 8:01 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Third down coming up.

Let’s keep this drive going!!

I don’t blame coach. I thought he was building some momentum, but I wouldn’t put this game in Nate’s hands.

I liked Brock’s overthrow of Smith against UW better

by turkey on Dec 27, 2008 8:13 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Now that one really wasn’t meant for Miller.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 8:14 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And Smith got some air going for it, I got a sweet pic of it.

He gets a few plays a game. That was nice timing there

by turkey on Dec 27, 2008 8:14 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’m not sure. It could go either way.

But hey, they can’t say Nate choked the game anymore.

by BearsNecessity on Dec 27, 2008 8:14 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

we'll see.

if they are deep, they might not really have that option.

they might have to throw at syd, which has not been good for them this eve.

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 8:20 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

After that incomplete even stops the clock.

BTW

Congrats to Nate. He didn’t play very well but at the end of the game. he got that touch down.

Congrats and thanks for being a Bear!

by tjalorak on Dec 27, 2008 8:21 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i agree. he stuck through all of it, the death of his father, the booing of the fans, the injuries, and self-doubt

for a while, he was our best and only option at qb. can’t say he didn’t deserve all of the criticism, but he stuck through all of the thickness.

This was a nice way to end the season

Not exactly a dominant victory by any stretch of the imagination but we won it the way we did our other victories this season… defense and turnovers.

All the best to our seniors and let’s hope that our offense next season starts to resemble the offenses we’ve been used to seeing!

by Mister Pie on Dec 27, 2008 8:28 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

PAIN TRAIN was my MVP

Jahvid had an off day… 186 yards, 9.3 yards/carry and only 2 TDs… wow, something is definitely wrong… is he injured or something?

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 8:28 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

sigh

Well, I feel a lot better. Now we’ve gotta wait another ~9 months for more Cal football though :(

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 8:28 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

But LOI day, then spring ball, then summer drills, then fall ball!!!!

Ok, actually it’s NHL time for me. Go Sharks!

I’m definitely going to be scouring CGB, BearTalk, and all the other Cal blogs for Cal football info in the mean time. Definitely need it to take my mind off of work and school!

by BleedinBlue on Dec 27, 2008 8:33 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Shannon was spot on...

He said they have to stop Follet and the LBs and stop Best to win this game. They didn’t…. they lost.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 8:30 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good to know he could figure that out...

Too bad he has no time mgmt skills whatsoever

by GoldenBear421 on Dec 27, 2008 8:31 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

No kidding

Miami’s time management at the end of the game was absolutely bizarre.

by Mister Pie on Dec 27, 2008 8:34 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I guess it's time for BASKETBALL

Every home game will be live streamed this year… Plus some Pac10 matchups on FSN/ESPN. Hope to see you all there.

I promised myself to watch Women’s BB this year too. I’m really going to try… Walker… Grey-Law… they’re pretty good.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 8:39 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’ll post it before the games…. our friends PRD74, GoldenBearSports and our athletic department will pick up the different games…. but I believe 100% of our home games will be covered and all our games with ASU, UCLA and even USC.

by danzig on Dec 27, 2008 8:51 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nice! I’ll be keeping an eye out, then.

FOR ALL OF YOU:

HE WAS DEFINITELY THROWING IT TO MILLER. WE’VE RAN THAT PLAY BEFORE IN THE WASHINGTON GAME. IT WAS A PERFECT PASS TO MILLER. DON’T TAKE IT AWAY FROM HIM. NASTY NATE DELIVERED WHEN IT COUNTED. I SAW MILLER OPEN IN THE BACK TOO, NATE!

You ain't got it like Marshawn got it
