College Football Bowl Pick'em Reminder!

I think we'll be using confidence points if only because I'm too lazy to change them, and it seems more fun. Besides, who doesn't want to put 34 points on the line on Rutgers vs. NC State in the Papajohns.com bowl?!?!? You know, besides me.

That’s what I hate about college bowl pick-’ems – those damn confidence points. Seriously, please get rid of them.
It’s fun predicting scores. It’s not fun predicting “confidence”. Seriously. Please.

Is there anything you ever like? Yknow, besides Ray Malugagh and Quizz.
Please disregard the above ramblings as those of a clearly delusional fan.

I feel that without confidence points, bowl pick-’ems could be as popular as NCAA brackets. Just pick who wins each game.

There are way too many tiebreakers that could go into effect regarding
“guess the stupid score of the BCS title game” and someone will just randomly guess a number. It’s easier to win an NCAA bracket outright.

So winner of the bowl pick’em gets a dinner date with Twist at Chez Panisse?

In that case, I just might have to delete my account just in the off chance that I win.

Also
any chance we can challenge one of the other Pac blogs to a pick ’em contest? Winner gets…something?

Instead of Confidence Points...
…I would love to have it be against the spread. That would decrease the chance of ties and also be helpful for betting purposes!
Oh my god. It isn’t.
Well my chances of winning this thing just dropped to zero.

I’m literally devastated. I spent about twenty minutes researching the lines and reorganizing them. Now it’s all crap. Damnit.

Um… wow, I can’t believe it isn’t.
That may be because the spread constantly changes, but still!
I have no new information on that at this time.
Basically, you assign the most “confidence points” to the team which you REALLY think will win. For, say, Missouri vs. Northwestern, you’re probably pretty darn sure Missouri is going to win. Therefore, you’d assign it the maximum confidence points, so that when Missouri wins, you’d get 34 points. For Northern Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech, you a) have no clue who is going to win (and b) don’t care), so you’d assign it 1 confidence point.
