Sorry about the frame size problem and the interlacing… like I said all my templates and my previously vetted presets were all lost… so I was basically guessing again about frame size, frame rate, compression etc…

Pain Train and Ong-Bak: never seen in the same place at the same time. You heard it here first.

I can’t hear the background music. Is it awesome?

PS Danzig, the link to the MSU highlights is dead :(

by Rishi on Nov 7, 2008 9:50 AM PST reply actions

It’s an OPP instrumental (Naughty by Nature) with the game announcers’ voices mixed in. Entourage was using alot of 90s rap music lately and it sounded good… so I thought I’d try it.

BTW: Vimeo has deleted about eight of my videos for copyright violations this past week and even deleted one of my accounts. I’m in the process of uploading them again under a different username. If you see anymore that go missing, let me know. I can’t keep up with their legal department.

Why not just use YouTube? I can’t imagine the videos being taken down there over copyright issues, though I could be wrong.

Still happy over the fact that the Nets signed Ryan Anderson. Now if only they can sign Leon Powe after this year...

I already do. All the videos you see are also uploaded to youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqkdKrTg76E&fmt=18

And I’ve had about 5 of my videos on youtube pulled because of copyright issues. Youtube is much worse than Vimeo, but for some reason Vimeo is just starting to get litigious.

Oh, that’s somewhat surprising. Given the amount of stuff on YouTube that I figured would need to be taken down due to copyright issues.

Most of it comes from the songs I use, not the video… but one of the videos that was taken down was via request from NFL network.

My friends and I can’t seem to remember what happened after the safety….

What kind of kick Oregon do?

It's seriously too bad that there's no building or complex around that might have a large supply of sports drinks.

If I recall correctly, they lined up as if they were going to do a normal kickoff, but they did a drop kick/punt.

See that’s the thing. From what people were saying, and from what I have read, you can do one of three things:

1. Punt
2. Drop Kick
3. Place Kick

which leads me to believe that a drop kick is different than a punt. Wikipedia says: “A punt is the most commonly chosen option, whereas a drop kick is virtually unheard-of in modern football.”

IIRC, a drop kick requires the ball to hit the ground first. It’s like a punt, but you kick it just as it bounces off the ground.

Considering the other two options, doing this would just be madness.

by turkey on Nov 7, 2008 2:01 PM PST up reply actions

In that case, it was a normal punt. Something looked different about it, though. Maybe it was just that they lined up like they do on a kickoff. I don’t know why anyone would do a drop kick. I can’t imagine the ball bounces very high after it is dropped.

Yeah, the drop kick is an old school thing that used to be done in play to score a surprise field goal. The balls has to bounce or it’s a punt, and a punt through the uprights don’t mean shit. The ball used to be more rugby shaped back then so it was more feasible. The shift to forward passing rendered it fairly obsolete, although Doug Flutie did one in his final NFL game for a fun extra point and it occasionally pops up as attempted n muffed snaps. It lingers in the rules for situations like this because it’s still legal in general.
