defnese looks fine, offense looked great on opening scoring drive, now it looks sluggish

Offense looks mediocre, defense looks okay, special teams are miserable (responsible for both OSU touchdowns).

very little offense on either side

But OSU has two huge kick returns and Cal only one

Very few rules in life

But a good defense doesn’t give up a first down on 2nd and 30.

Sigh. Everything looked so good in the first two minutes, and now everything looks so bad in the last 14.

I'm hoping things will play out like the Oregon game

Ugly start, d picks up the pace and the O finds a rhythm. I’m not too optimistic though

by norcalnick on Nov 15, 2008 1:25 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Great play by a d-lineman

sniffed the screen and covered Rodgers at the line

Did you see the block by Rodgers on that last tipped ball?

Would’ve been a sack.

OSU has two senior receivers...

I think Cal has a better chance of bringing pressure. Morales is finding holes in the zone.

by BearsNecessity on Nov 15, 2008 1:34 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

No

Two critical plays in last years OSU game. 3rd and 8 & 3rd and 15. Rushed 3 both times and gave up critical first downs both times.

Though I agree that we have been much better rushing 3 this year than last year.

long steady drives are not part of the Cal offensive package

it’s clearly a strategy on Tedford’s part to confuse our opponents – defenses get befuddled when they get too much rest.

not necessarily….

Go Bears!

Of course not, but putting out the FG unit is pretty simple. When they have probs at the yardage/situation, it could have been a fake.

“They’re icing their own kicker.”

AHAHAHAHA. These announcers are cracking themselves up.

too bad they're the only ones laughing :-p

I haven't seen that many tear-stained dollar bills since my dad hired a stripper for my uncle's funeral.

Ah, good old quick kick

Never Always fails.

Still happy over the fact that the Nets signed Ryan Anderson. Now if only they can sign Leon Powe after this year...

way to go Bears - inspire me

i'm here to clean your pool but i don't have a pool *bowchica bowow*

i dont think tedford's ever going to fire alamar

he always somehow makes tedford forget how shitty he is by having a handful of good special teams plays littered throughout the season

But… we don’t have Tha1 anymore. There’s no one to save Alamar anymore.

I’m not sure if Best has that same game changing ability, though : \

by BleedinBlue on Nov 15, 2008 2:11 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah that kickoff return at the beginning was terrible.

by BearsNecessity on Nov 15, 2008 2:13 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Actually, I missed kickoff. What happened?

by BleedinBlue on Nov 15, 2008 2:13 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

best broke it

would have been a td if the kicker hadn’t facemasked him.

by CBKWit on Nov 15, 2008 2:14 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Best had only a 50 yard run. He didn’t get to 90 yards though, so he’s no game changer, that’s for sure.

by BearsNecessity on Nov 15, 2008 2:14 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

now play nice.

Well, I feel like we’ve been expecting more from him, and he’s only answered against weaker teams, except against Michigan State.

Then again, it could be the O-line not opening holes for him.

shrug

the o-line

ding ding ding!

that first kickoff was pretty great.

would have been a td if not for the facemask. Best is a much better kick return than DeSean, just not the punt returner.

by CBKWit on Nov 15, 2008 2:13 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ALL WE NEED TO DO...

is punt it out of bounds…

and KOR at an angle… (though with Georgio, that might be difficult without kicking it out of bounds)

= then we win this game.

by danzig on Nov 15, 2008 2:17 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well, isolate him to tight end coaching. Punting and kicking always goes down as the games wear on.

by BearsNecessity on Nov 15, 2008 2:10 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

our tight end play has also been spectacular

if I had a dime for every time Eric Beegun dropped a pass…

hahaha man do i remember those days

everytime beegun came in i fully expected him to fuck up the play

Riley is passing 35%

But he’s being rushed CONSTANTLY… so it’s the OL too. Need more draws and misdirection and screens to make them lay off.
