A Few Oregon @ Cal Photos

I couldn't take nearly as many photos as normal because the rain would ruin my camera, but I tried.  After taking a few before the game, I had to put my camera away because it rained heavily nonstop until the fourth quarter.  I wanted a picture of just how wet the field was (water was pooling in the entire north end of the field), but the rain was too unforgiving for my camera.  I hope Twist, RoyRules, or TheNick were able to get more photos than I could.

We have the Pain Train.  They have the Duck Truck.  Good thing the truck didn't see the field today.

WR Jeff Maehel (#23) was relentlessly taunted by the student section during the game.  I'm sure he'll love coming back to Memorial Stadium in 2010.

They were bumblebees for Halloween.  Look at that busy little hive of them.

Cal scrimmage: they handed off to pole and pole took it to the house.  No one could tackle pole.

Oregon scrimmage: there were a few fumbles during their scrimmage.  Because of that I expected Oregon to have some fumbles in the first half.  Instead, they let us do all the fumbling.

Nate hands off the fullback Peter Geurts.  Geurts did a lot of running when he played against WSU.  When Will Ta'ufo'ou leaves after this season, I wonder if we'll do more handoffs to the fullback.  He could be useful in our goalline situations.

Twenty minutes before kickoff and the stadium was still this empty.  The Oregon section had a huge turnout though.  I didn't get a picture of them due to the rain.

The Pain Train came over to give (a partially obscured) Riley some encouraging words when he was on the trainers' table.

Follett was a great leader today.  He spent a lot of time encouraging everyone, even the offense.  He ran out onto the field before Cal's final TD to encourage the offense.  He's a great team captain.

Kevin was a mess coming off the field.  He looked disoriented, though he still managed to encourage the student section to make some noise when they were cheering for him.  In fact, the student section even chanted "Let's go Nate" when Nate came out.  Naturally, a select few were ridiculing Nate (even, oddly enough, right after he completed that 4th and 14 pass).

During the entire game, the north scoreboard said "Oregun" due to some burnt-out bulbs.  This was a fantastic game.  The (limited) pictures alone cannot demonstrate how much fun this game was in person.
