Dissapointing
They have three turnovers, one for a TD, and we are only ahead 7. they are killing us in special teams.

at this point i’ll take a win, no matter how ugly it is.

Almost perfect strike
to the UCLA defender

If we were in the SEC
wouldn’t that poll be pretty much “moderately/very well” right now? Maybe the poll should be broken up into a Defense and Offense version. Because the Defense has been playing very well while the Offense has been playing pretty damn poor.

Yeah what the heck was that? looked like he was throwing punches
by Mister Pie on Oct 25, 2008 2:44 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Not a punch
But he should definitely be benched for that. Stupid

Why does it seem like helmets are popping off players a lot these days?

Pac-10 officials are practicing their voodoo head shrinking.

so, uh
I forgot. Which quarterback of ours is the statue? Riley, Longshore, or Stegosaurus?
Still happy over the fact that the Nets signed Ryan Anderson. Now if only they can sign Leon Powe after this year...

it looks like any subsequent points put on the board will be scored only by the defenses or special teams

Feeling great. The receivers are dropping balls left and right and I’m not dreading a 4th quarter interception.

I'd like to know what the penalties were

I feel like I’m watching an ESPN special that just happens to have clips of the football game.

I feel like I’m watching an interview with Joe Kapp.

so is 6/13 for 48 yards bad enough to replace the savior with Longshore yet, or no?

How many easy passes have the receivers dropped today?
by The Hombre on Oct 25, 2008 2:53 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
So explain to me why that's a valid excuse for Riley, but not Longshore.

Because Longshore has consistently sucked in the second half and has consistently thrown devastating fourth quarter interceptions. He has shown no improvement and will be gone next year. That’s why.

I’m pretty sure it’s a fallacy to assume that Riley’s going to improve just by force feeding him PT. Sometimes players are who they are, you know? Hey, if Riley were showing demonstrable improvement, we wouldn’t be having this argument. But he’s playing Washington State-level bad.

Put Mansion in if you want. Anybody but Longshore.

As long as we can agree that force feeding Riley isn’t the answer here either.

And I thought for a second there we found some common ground.

He’s a sophomore. He needs to learn. He needs to develop a relationship with his inexperienced receivers. He needs to know that Tedford believes he can improve. I think the team views him as a leader. The team needs to know that Tedford believes in him.
If he shows no improvement by the end of the season, then we should look to Mansion.
by The Hombre on Oct 25, 2008 3:10 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I guess I agree on the “force feeding” sentiment, and knowing who the players are. I’m just not sure if we can be 100% sure this is who Riley is.
That being said, I don’t know if we can put Longshore in again. I was rooting for Nate until that int in the UA game; just looking at the situation right before the int, I already knew it was coming. We need to develop QBs for the future, and I don’t think putting Nate in is the best course of action.

Riley didn’t exactly play a stellar 1st half today, did he? That was the reason Longshore was in first for the ASU game, and the reason he was put into the UA game.
At this point, I’m wondering how Mansion would do xD
I’m not advocating putting Longshore in though… we need Riley to figure things out.

He’ll need to find a way to go fro 6/13 to 4/15 methinks.
