BERKELEY – Some of the best teams in women’s basketball will converge on Haas Pavilion when the University of California hosts the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Berkeley Regional March 28 and 30, 2009.

The field for the 2009 NCAA Tournament won’t be announced until March 16, but fans can reserve their seats this fall for this exciting event. All-session tickets, which include three games – two regional semifinals and the regional championship – are $50 for sideline prime seats. End zone seats are $35 for adults, $20 for youth (ages 12 and under) and $20 for seniors (65 and over).

Jackson scored on a 68-yard punt return giving the Eagles a 14-0 lead over the Washington Redskins when (rookie kick returner Quintin) Demps joined him in the end zone. They posed face-to-face with arms folded and heads bobbing.

To the NFL, the act wasn’t among the “natural, spontaneous expressions of exuberance and celebratory acts” which typically are not penalized or fined by NFL authorities.

Looking at the replays, Jackson and Demps apparently violated the unsportsmanlike conduct rule when “two or more players engage in prolonged, excessive, premeditated or choreographed celebrations, particularly after scoring plays.”

McCain calls Obama a “decent person” and gets booed. From SFGate:

The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and John McCain is acting to tamp it down. McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama’s character, he described the Democrat as a “decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.”

Shouts of “traitor,”“terrorist,”“treason,”“liar,” and even “off with his head”, (referring to Obama) have rung from the crowd at McCain and Sarah Palin rallies, and gone unchallenged by them.

Here’s the best one:

“I don’t trust Obama,” a woman said. “I have read about him. He’s an Arab.”

“Not far behind Barkley and getting closer in the rear-view mirror is Mission Viejo’s Allan Bridgford, who seemingly cannot do anything wrong at this point. The outstanding Cal commit has lit up defenses to the tune of 21 touchdowns on the season and is completing 64% of his passes. On any other given year Bridgford could have been the No. 1 quarterback in the county, but with Barkley in the mix No. 2 is nothing to be embarrassed about. You can’t really blame Barkley for the two losses his team’s had against two great opponents (with much more talent across the board). The team around him isn’t even a regular Mater Dei squad in terms of talent and will play at least two more games as underdogs.

Having seen a number of his games last year, I know he is quite the specimen. There’s a reason why he won the National Player of the Year Award as a Jr., though I doubt he will repeat this year
